Around 300 locals have fled to safer places following the military council’s arson attack on Kinpunchone village in Salin Township of Magway Region, according to locals.
The military council burned the villages after a clash between the military council and the combined force of People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) from the early morning of 28 March till noon.
At present, the military council’s arson has burned down around half of Kinpunchone village, a local said.
Locals displaced by the battles between the military council and the PDFs are in urgent need of emergency aid including rations, according to a statement by the People’s Defense Force-Salin.
A combined force of Minbu District No.1 Battalion-Salin, Saw Battalion-3, Pwintphyu PDF, Minbu PDF and Saytoketayar Battalion-3 attacked a military column of over 200 junta soldiers.
However, both sides have not released casualties yet.
