The military council is commandeering cargo trucks in Magway Region for the supply of ration to the military camps in Arakan State, according to locals.

The military is hiring trucks from owners in Magway, Chauk, Salin and Sinphygyun, along with a life guarantee.

“The military council is hiring trucks for the supply of ration to Ann in Arakan State. The military council is hiring trucks with an incentive that it will pay compensation for the damage to trucks and guarantee life for drivers. The junta is going to commandeer trucks as no one wants to do it,” a local from Salin said.

In 2023, the military council commandeered cargo trucks for the supply of rations to Chin State. At that time, no one wanted to go to Chin State, he continued.

The junta arrested and extorted car owners citing various reasons because they could not hire trucks.

The military council’s attempt to transport rations to Chin State with more than 70 vehicles through Pakokku Division-101 failed.

This year, the revolutionary forces intercepted a ration convoy of more than 120 vehicles when the junta’s Division-101 Pakokku sent rations to Pyu Saw Htee villages in Pauk Township. More than 10 vehicles were damaged in the ambush.
