An artillery shell explosion near the police station in (Kyu Gote) Ward in Pang Hseng, Shan State, killed one man and injured one woman, a local resident said.

A local resident said a man was killed and a woman injured in an artillery shell explosion on 1 November near the military council police station in (Kyu Gote) Ward 8 in Pang Hseng.

“Today (1 Nov.), a heavy shell landed and exploded near the police station, killing a man. A woman was also hit by shrapnel. Another resident suffered from hypertension (as a result of the incident),” the resident said.

According to reports, a local social welfare group took the injured and the person suffering from hypertension to Muse Hospital for medical care.

Fighting between the two sides continued to take place near the hill where the Myanmar army outpost is located, leaving residents trapped inside the town, a local resident said.

“We still can’t leave the town because of the fierce fighting. We are hiding in our houses. We can still hear the sounds of heavy weapons,” he said.

Currently, the military is flying fighter jets over the town, stoking fears among residents that they will drop bombs.

According to reports, the Three Brothers Alliance launched an attack on the junta’s police station in Pang Hseng (Kyu Gote) on 31 October.
