Ministry of Defense under the National Unity Government (NUG) formed the central military regional command by grouping Karen, Karenni (Kayah), Mon, Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady, Yangon and Bago in the southern parts of Myanmar, together with the central parts of Myanmar related to Nay Pyi Taw.
The southern military regional command is jointly organized and controlled by the NUG’s Ministry of Defense with the leadership of the two allied ethnic revolutionary organizations from the south and central areas, the Karen National Union (KNU) and the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), according to
the “State of People’s Defense” report released on 28 May 2023.

“လမ်းများအားလုံး… နေပြည်တော်သို့” (သို့မဟုတ်) တောင်ပိုင်းစစ်ဒေသကို လေ့လာခြင်း
ကရင်၊ ကရင်နီ (ကယား)၊ မွန်၊ တနင်္သာရီ၊ ဧရာဝတီ၊ ရန်ကုန်နှင့် ပဲခူး စသည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတောင်ပိုင်းဒေသများ၊ နေပြည်တော်နှင့် ဆက်စပ်နယ်မြေများဖြစ်သည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအလယ်ပိုင်းဒေသများကို စုစည်းကာ အမျိုးသားညီညွတ်ရေးအစိုးရ (NUG) ၏ ကာကွယ်ရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာနက “တောင်ပိုင်းစစ်ဒေသ” အဖြစ် စုဖွဲ့ထားပါသည်။ ယင်းတောင်ပိုင်းစစ်ဒေသကို တောင်ပိုင်းနှင့် အလယ်ပိုင်းမှ မဟာမိတ်တိုင်းရင်းသားတော်လှန်ရေးအဖွဲ့အစည်း (၂) ခုဖြစ်သော ကရင်အမျိုးသားအစည်းအရုံး (KNU) နှင့် ကရင်နီအမျိုးသားတိုးတက်ရေးပါတီ (KNPP) တို့၏ ဦးဆောင်ပါဝင်မှုနှင့် အတူ NUG ကာကွယ်ရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာနက ပေါင်းစပ်ဖွဲ့စည်းကာ ပူးပေါင်းကွပ်ကဲလျက်ရှိကြောင်း ၂၀၂၃ ခုနှစ် မေလ၂၈ ရက်တွင် ထုတ်ပြန်ထားသော “ပြည်သူ့ကာကွယ်ရေးကဏ္ဍအခြေပြ” တွင် ဖော်ပြထားပါသည်။
ယခုတစ်ပတ် BNI-Myanmar Peace Monitor ၏ အပတ်စဉ် သတင်းသုံးသပ်ချက်တွင် စစ်အာဏာသိမ်းကာလတလျှောက် အာဏာသိမ်းစစ်အုပ်စုအား ခုခံတော်လှန်စစ်ဆင်နွှဲနေကြသော နယ်မြေဒေသအလိုက် တိုက်ပွဲဆိုင်ရာအချက်အလက်များ၊ ဖြစ်စဉ်ဖြစ်ရပ်များကို အခြေပြုကာ တောင်ပိုင်းစစ်ဒေသအတွင်း တွေ့ရှိချက်များကို လေ့လာတင်ပြထားပါသည်။
