NLA seizes scores of weapons and ammunition from Boatkan police outpost

Scores of weapons and ammunition were seized during a raid on Boatkan police outpost on Kalay-Tamu road in Tamu Township of Sagaing Region on the morning of 24 March, according to the statement by the National Liberation Army (NLA).

The junta soldiers withdrew from the Boatkan police outpost 45 minutes after the raid.

The NLA seized 15 small arms, two magazine boxes, 12 BA-63 Rifle magazines, two BA-94 Rifle magazines, two AK-47 magazines, two claymore mines, three grenades, two BA-63 bayonets, one dagger, six Walkie-Talkies, one Walkie-Talkie base station, seven handcuffs, one taser, three batons and police uniforms, according to the statement.

The NLA member said this operation is named “Coucal” operation. We will drive out any organizations which serve as the military council’s pillars. We will fight until we can root out the dictator.

In the afternoon after the outpost was captured, the military council conducted airstrikes with Mi-35.

Tamu-Kabaw Region PDF Battalion-3 was formed following the coup and transformed into the NLA in March, 2023.
