Till 28 February, 2023, a total of 60,459 civilian houses were burned down in arson attacks by the military council and its allies, according to a statement released by Data for Myanmar.

The military council’s arsons destroyed 47,778 houses in Sagaing Region, 9,019 in Magway Region, 1,485 in Chin State, 13 in Arakan State and 2,177 in the remaining regions and states.

The Data for Myanmar collected the data from media and relevant information teams.

It confirms and scrutinizes the events which have a lot of numbers by comparing the data from Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS Database) of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). It has omitted the figures which have no exact number and date, the Data for Myanmar says.

The number collected by the groups working on the ground may be higher, the Data for Myanmar says.
