Panyit villagers flee due to the military’s arson

Almost all people from Panyit village in Launglon Township of Tanintharyi Region have fled to safer places as the military council is burning civilian houses on the morning of 10 March, locals told the Than Lwin Times.

A military column of more than 60 soldiers entered Panyit village via Kayingyi village in Launglon Township at around 7 am and then burned civilian houses for no apparent reason.

More than three houses were burned down. Fire continues there. Over 700 locals have fled to the forests and nearby villages as the junta soldiers remain in the village.

On 8 March, the military column burned down more than five houses in Kayingyi village.

Thousands of locals from seven villages including Kayingyi, Thabawseik, Kampani and Kyauksin villages due to the military column’s arson.
