Military conducts airstrikes on NUG’s hospital in Myaing Township

A combined local defense forces attacked a Pyu Saw Htee village in response to the military council’s airstrike on a hospital run by the National Unity Government (NUG) in Bahin village in Myaing Township in Magway Region on January 22, Myaing People’s Defense Force (PDF) told the Than Lwin Times.

The combined force of Myaing PDF Battalion-1 and 2, Pakokku District Battalion-2 and 7, Black Peacock Force, Black Leopard Force and village defense force attacked Kanni village from afternoon till night on January 22, with heavy shells.

“Pyu Saw Htee member Aung San was killed and two others wounded. We carried out this attack in retaliation for the military council’s airstrikes against innocent civilians from Bahin village with Mi35 jet fighters. The PDFs will conduct retaliatory strikes on the towns and villages where the military council and Pyu Saw Htee are stationed,” Bo Lat Yar from Myaing PDF Battalion-1 said.

On January 21, the military council’s Mi35 jet fighter attacked Bahin station hospital run by the NUG without any battles. Two PDF members were wounded and a 60-year-old woman, killed in the attack.

The military council is frequently carrying out the burning of civilian houses, airstrikes and artillery shelling through nearby military camps, in Magway Region although there is no battle.
