A combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), the Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) and other allied forces seized Kyaukhnyat outpost where No.434 Battalion is located. Locals fled to safer places as the military council bombarded Malnyuhtra village near the camp, according to the BPLA’s statement.

Ten houses were burned down and many others destroyed as the military council carried out two airstrikes in Lay Kay village in Bilin Township in Brigade-1 area of the KNU’s Thaton District on May 1st, according to locals.

This is the first airstrike on the KNU’s Brigade-1 area since the issuance of a warning letter and the seizure of the camp.
