Armed Clash Events in Two Weeks (28 February – 12 March 2024)

According to the record of Burma News International (BNI) – Myanmar Peace Monitor (MPM), there were a total of 75 armed clash events between the military council forces, People’s Defense Forces/Local Defense Forces (PDFs/LDFs) and Ethnic Revolutionary Organizations (EROs) during the period from 28 February 2024 to 12 March 2024.

Among the regions and states, Kachin State saw the highest number of armed clashes with 21 events. According to the record of BNI – MPM, a total of 4,259 armed clash events were reported across the country from 1 February 2021 to 12 March 2024. As armed clash events are recorded as one event per day by township, the actual number of clashes may be higher.
