Could the Junta’s Executions Intensify the Ongoing Resistance War in Myanmar? – Issue 66

The bold but clandestine revelation by the State Administration Council (SAC) about the completion of execution of the four political prisoners – U Kyaw Min Yu, better known as Ko Jimmy, U Phyo Zeyar Thaw, U Hla Myo Aung and U Aung Thura Zaw after 18 months of the Spring Revolution shook the hearts of the entire population and caused heartbreaking grief while reinforcing the resolute affirmation of “We must win” in the minds of the resistance forces during the Spring Revolution.

On July 31st, “public pledge of allegiance ceremonies” were held in different parts of the country, at home and abroad, for the heroes who sacrificed their lives due to the inhumane and violent actions of the military council during the Spring Revolution to show their revolt against the military junta wherever they are.

This week’s BNI-Myanmar Peace Monitor weekly news review looks at the possibility that the recent execution of political prisoners could intensify the ongoing resistance war during the Spring Revolution.
