The KNPP/KA is in the ERO grouping within the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and plays a leading role in the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC). Furthermore, KNPP Chairman Khu Oo Reh serves as the chairman of the Interim Executive Council of Karenni State (IEC), which was formed as an interim measure by the KSCC.

The KNPP/KA is also a  member  of  the “Central  Command  and Coordination Committee (C3C),” which is the military arm of the Spring Revolution to end the military dictatorshipThe KNPP/KA provides political and military leadership in the Southern Military Region, which includes Karen, Karenni (Kayah), Mon, Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady, Yangon, Bago, and central Myanmar. The KNPP/KA has formed a Joint Coordination Committee (J2C) and a Joint Operation Command (JOC) with the Karen National Union (KNU/KNLA) and the NUG.

The KNPP/KA is also a party to the “joint position statement by allied organizations engaged in revolutionary struggle towards annihilation of military dictatorship and establishment of a Federal Democratic Union,” along with the NUG, KIO/KIA, KNU/KNLA, and CNF/CNA. It is also actively organizing and leading the consolidation of armed groups resisting the military junta in Karenni State, which is considered the most intense military coalition against the military junta.

The Karenni Resistance Forces (KRF), which is a coalition of groups resisting the military junta in Karenni State, including the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), can be considered the most powerful military coalition against the junta. This coalition has already captured and controlled numerous junta positions and five towns. It is evident that during the Spring Revolution, the KNPP/KA’s objectives and actions are accelerating efforts toward building a future federal democratic union.
