“No civilians were harmed. They targeted the Bangkok IDP camp. The airstrike hit the school building, and destroyed two IDP homes. They simultaneously dropped two bombs which we believe to be 500-pound bombs,” the local man said.
The military junta has now conducted airstrikes on the Bangkok IDP camp three times: once in September 2024, once in November 2024, and again on 14 May 2025.
According to data compiled from the first two airstrikes, 11 people, including children under 15, were killed, with additional injuries and damage to homes reported.
The junta targeted an area in eastern part of Pekon with artillery, killing one civilian, according to the Pekon People’s Defense Force (Battalion 1006).
Despite declaring a nationwide ceasefire, the junta continues to carry out attacks on civilian areas on a daily basis, resistance forces say.
