Locals report that around 20 people were killed when the military council carried out an aerial bombing on a wedding reception for a local PDF member at a monastery in the Kyauk Khwet oil field, Sone Kone village, Myaing Township, Magway Region, at approximately 9 a.m. on 25 February.
A local said, “So far, more than 20 people have been confirmed dead. Many others were injured, and many were affected as it took place during a crowded time.”
The local added that it is difficult to determine the exact situation, as the dead and injured are still being rescued.
In addition, they are exercising caution while rescuing the victims due to the threat of potential airstrikes. The exact situation will only be known when the relevant defense groups release further information.
The junta’s bombings in Magway Region, with paramotors and jet fighters, have led to an increase in civilian casualties.
On 23 February, the junta used a paramotor to bomb Monhnyin village in Sidoktaya Township, Magway Region, killing eight civilians and injuring five others.
