Four locals killed by junta troops in Salin’s Kya Pin village (North)

Local residents report that four civilians were killed by military junta troops in Kya Pin village (North) in Kya Pin village tract of Salin Township, Magway Region.

According to locals’ accounts, the junta troops entered the area on 10 March, and the victims’ bodies were discovered after the troops withdrew.

“The troops arrested seven people. They released two, one escaped, and they brutally killed the remaining four,” said a resident.

The victims have been identified as four residents of Kya Pin village: Ko Thet Naung Tun (aged 39), U Min Khaing (aged 50) who had suffered from a stroke; U Aung San Myint (aged 50), and U Win Bo (aged 60), according to residents.

The bodies were reportedly were found covered with pieces of wood near the old toilet pit at southeast corner of the high school.

Local witnesses stated that the bodies were found with their hands tied behind their backs with throats and other body parts slashed.

In addition, local residents stated that since it was discovered that junta soldiers had installed electric torture devices in one of the rooms of the school, it is possible that brutal torture was carried out before the killings took place.
