Local residents report casualties in Kyaukhtu in Saw Township, Magway Region, due to the military council’s drone strikes targeting civilians for two consecutive days, without any ongoing fighting.

The military junta’s Artillery Battalion-368 reportedly conducted drone bombings on nearby villages on 10 and 11 December, leaving one resident dead and four others injured.

“They informed [the villagers]. They told them to harvest their paddy by the end of the day, and then conducting such attacks during the paddy harvest is a heinous act by AB-368. It is also a direct threat to civilians,” said Ko Aung Gyi from Yaw Alin Tan.

Similarly, on 11 December, AB-368 drone-bombed Kan Gyi village, injuring a 70-year-old woman and a middle-aged man. The woman was reportedly in critical condition.

Local residents had requested permission from AB-368 to harvest and thresh their rice, but on 10 December, the battalion drone-attacked the paddy-threshing site directly, according to local accounts.

These attacks injured three local residents – one died from severe injuries due to excessive bleeding, while another remained in critical condition.

Local residents suggest that the AB-368 began bombing the surrounding areas out of suspicion following an armed clash between defense forces and junta troops in the first week of December.
