Anyar Myay Coalition Forces launch attack on Pyu Saw Htee village in Pakokku

Five junta soldiers were killed and two were seriously injured in a surprise attack by Anyar Myay Coalition Forces on Pyu Saw Htee-dominated west Mangyekan village, Pakokku Townshi, Magway Region, according to sources on the ground.

Ko Bo Bo Thant Sin, Spokesperson of the Anyar Myay Coalition Forces said: “Since we launched the attack, some of their Pyu Saw Htee members and junta troops joined a column of over 400 soldiers advancing toward Pakokku Township. We launched the offensive when they were weak. That’s why they couldn’t counterattack.”

Taking advantage of the weakened state of the military council and Pyu Saw Htee forces, the combined forces launched an attack on West Mangyekan village, located between Pakokku and Myitchae.

During a two-hour battle from 5 am to 7 am, on 10 June, all three bunkers held by the military council were captured. However, the coalition forces were forced to retreat after reinforcements arrived from the Pyu Saw Htee and Pakokku Division 101 based in Begyi Kone village.”

Ko Bo Bo Thant Zin added that three members from the coalition forces sustained minor injuries in the fighting, and are currently receiving medical treatment in a safe location.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Joint forces of Anyar Myay along with Ayar Daung force, the borderless (PKU) Ko Ye Khae and Balanyinaung youth-led guerrilla forces, the Wolf Guerrilla Force, the PLO Guerrilla Force, the Storm Guerrilla Force, the DYT Guerrilla Force, the BLY Pauk (PDF), Thakhin Phoe Hla Gyi (Magway District PDF Unit 6), Burmese Revolution Ranger, PI PDF, God of Myaing, 21 Bagan, and the Youth Guerrilla Force (Y.G.F.), among others.

As of 12 June, the 400-strong military column had been deployed in Kamma, where they were gathering rations using three vehicles seized from local residents, operating out of the monastery in Nyaung Gyit Pin village.

In addition, military convoys carrying rations were also seen in Joe Pyan village, according to ground sources.
