After the first meeting between the New Mon State Party-Anti-Dictatorship (NMSP-AD) and the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC), they agreed to cooperate militarily and politically, according to the MSFC.

Six members of the military and political leading group of the NMSP-AD and nine members of the MSFC met for the first time on 22 April.

Both sides agreed to cooperate in the various sectors including military, politics and social and relief and other sectors. Other agreements were reached, said Nai Mon Sai, Chair of the Executive Committee of the MSFC.

“Mainly, we discussed two things—military and politics. We exchanged views on politics. But the political content is a bit complicated, so we will continue to discuss it.

“The first discussion on the military affairs did not produce a complete answer. However, we have discussed how to make a military cooperation. Both sides have yet to make a decision,” said Nai Mon Sai.

The MSFC has announced that a “work coordination team” will be formed to discuss the tasks to be jointly implemented between the NMSP-AD and the MSFC.

The MSFC said in a statement that they will regularly present the work agreed upon by the work coordination team, to the Mon people and the ethnic people in the union.

On 7 April, the MSFC agreed to form an alliance with the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) and the MSDF and fight until the Mon State can be established.

In addition, Nai Mon Sai added that a plan is under way to hold talks and coordinate with other Mon armed organizations.

“Currently, we have discussed twice with a Mon armed group called Mon Army. It has come close to cooperation. Now both sides are discussing the rules and ethics to be followed by the members,” he said.

The MSFC has announced that it will cooperate with any group that is fighting against the military dictatorship in Mon State, and that it will fight until the military dictatorship and dictatorship are eradicated.

On 14 February, the NMSP-AD announced that it will fight against the military council in collaboration with the anti-junta organizations that have broken away from the New Mon State Party (MNSP).

On 22 February, the NMSP-AD held a virtual meeting with the National Unity Government (NUG). Both sides agreed to cooperate as a close ally in all sectors such as politics, military and diplomacy.
