Ethnic Militia groups military demands:
24 Sept 2012: The KIO says the public has a right to know how many soldiers have been killed during the Kachin conflict, a war that is taking up large amounts of the national budget, which could be spent on far better things like health care and education.
16 Sept 2012: KIO spokesman La Nan said the government had recently pushed new units into the territory and “should stop launching offensives in Kachin State” to stablise the situation. |
7 Sept 2012: The Karen National Union (KNU) has called on the Burmese government to move 90 out of around 300 military bases from the area controlled by the KNU in Karen State.
