November 14, 2022

Bodies allegedly burned by military council troops were found in Palontwi village in Madat township, Chinland Defense Force – Mindat reported.

The ethnic resistance members found the burned bodies while conducting a clearance operation after junta troops left the village on November 10.

It is reported that it is difficult for the family members of the victims to arrange a funeral because the regime troops destroyed even the remains of the bodies, the skeletons.

The bodies burned by the junta soldiers were initially believed to be six of the seven missing Palontwi villagers.

Military council troops took about 40 villagers hostage at about 10 am on November 7, and they were attacked by CDF -Mindat at about 12:30 pm the same day, according to a statement from CDF.

Two junta soldiers were killed in the attack, and the hostages were reportedly taken to another location by the junta army.

Military council soldiers also took an arrested man with them as they retreated to downtown Htilin in Magway Region on November 10.

Local PDF forces have warned the public against travelling in Htilin and Mindat Townships as regime troops in downtown Htilin prepare to deploy more troops in the area.
