Two civilians including a 3-year-old child were killed and four others including a six-month-old boy, seriously wounded in the military council’s airstrike on Sat Chauk village in Kanpetlet Township in Chin State on 13 August, said local residents.

“All the victims were local residents. There is no active fighting in the area. They carried out attacks on purpose. Among those killed are children. The junta used 500-pound bombs in their assault,” said a local resident.

At around 1.48 pm on 13 August, the military council carried out airstrikes on a school in Sat Chauk village in Sat Chauk village-tract in Dar Yin Du area in Kanpetlet Township, local residents said.

Maung Htan Ma Nar, 3 and Daw Hlaing Hlay, 42, died on the spot, local residents said.
Four people including a six-month-old girl, a 12-year-old boy and a 52-year-old man were wounded.

Airstrikes completely destroyed a school and four houses and partly destroyed two houses.
The military council targeted civilians with six bombs including two 500-pound bombs despite the absence of active fighting in Sat Chauk village, a local said.

All the residents of Sat Chauk village have fled to the forest out of fear of additional airstrikes.
