Two rubber plantation workers wounded by artillery shell shrapnel

Two workers from a rubber plantation were injured as the military council carried out aerial bombardment near Kyarinseikgyi in Karen State, at 11 am on January 4, according to a local.

Fighting is taking place between the combined force led by the Kawthoolei Army and the military council troops near Kyarinseikgyi.

“It occurred at around 11 am. A 60-year woman and a 22-year-old girl from the Rubber Plantation were wounded by artillery shell shrapnel. The 60-year woman got a wound to her hip while the 22-year-old girl got a minor wound to her face. The injured have been carried by ambulance. They are not in critical condition. Now we are fleeing to safer places due to the junta’s bombardment,” the local told the KIC.

Locals are fleeing to safer places as the military council troops are carrying out bombardments on the villages near Kyarinseikgyi.

Since December 31, there has been intense fighting between the military council troops and a combined force in Kyarinseikgyi Township.

The military council is conducting airstrikes as the combined force is attacking three military camps.
