Two women including a nine-year-old child were injured in an aerial bombing on Khe Chaung village in Bokpyin Township, Tanintharyi Region, at around 3 pm on 10 March as the junta carried out the bombing despite there being no ground fighting in the area, according to local sources.
A local man reported that a bomb fired by the junta landed and exploded in Khe Chaung village, destroying two houses near the Khe Chaung clinic.
The nine-year-old girl sustained an injury to her thigh in the aerial bombing. She is currently receiving treatment at Taung Nge village hospital.
Compared to other townships in Tanintharyi Region, Bokpyin Township experiences relatively low number of battles and raids.
Seven civilians, including three children, were injured in aerial bombings in Tanintharyi and Thayetchaung Townships on 3 March, despite there being no ground fighting.
