Three men found dead on Dawei-Htee Khee road section

Three men were found near the Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) checkpoint on Dawei-Htee Khee road in Ashae Taw area in Dawei Township in Tanintharyi Region, the villagers said.

On the morning of 8 October, between Pakhat village and Yammazu village on Dawei-Htee Khee road said that he saw the decaying corpses with their hands tied, said a villager who visited it.

“They were brutally tortured and killed. Torture injuries were also found on their bodies,” the villager said.

The bodies were discovered approximately 500 meters from the Bo Dar Kay checkpoint of the KTLA Sar Ka Saw Division-Battalion-3, the villager said.

Some locals said the victims were elderly and middle-aged men who buy small iron pieces and old materials.

Some villagers who witnessed the incident said that on 2 October, the KTLA arrested the men in two cars while they were sitting at a tea shop in Pakarri village.

Network Media Group has not been able to contact KTLA officials, and there has been no statement from KTLA concerning the incident to date.

According to a ground source, some villagers, who wished to remain anonymous for security reasons, cremated the bodies on the evening of 8 October.
