Three civilians were injured when the military council dropped bombs on the villages in Tanintharyi and Kyunsu Townships in Tanintharyi Region using helicopters on 2 July, according to residents.
At around 12 noon on 2 July, two helicopters from Myeik airbase dropped over 10 bombs on Tharrahpon village in Tanintharyi Township and Waryit village in Kyunsu Township, said residents.
The bombings destroyed five houses and injured two women in their 40s in Tharrahpon village and a Grade-9 student in Waryit village.
Residents reported that the military council dropped bombs on civilian areas in the villages where there was no ground fighting occurring.
On 27 June, the junta’s aerial attacks injured a child in Kywehtein village in Tanintharyi Township.
During this year, the military council has frequently bombarded the villages in Tanintharyi Region where fighting is intensifying, claiming that PDF members of hiding there.
