The military council has asked village administrators to recruit 20 people each from a village in Kyaukse District, according to village administrators.

“First we must defend our community. I don’t know the situation in detail. The administrators are recruiting the people for the training course for community security. Some people who have no thorough understanding give their names to defend their villages. Some people who have knowledge are trying not to meet the administrators,” a local said.

The village administrators started compiling the list on May 1st as the military council asked for 20 people from each village for community security.

On April 29th, the military council held a meeting with the village administrators. The military said it would conduct the training course for the defense and security of the community and provide necessary funds for the training course.

There are 64 village-tracts in TadaU Township in Kyaukse District. Each village-tracts have three villages. The military council has directed the administrators to send the list of trainees not later than May 5th, a person who is close to the administration said.

“There is no problem if they are not present in the village. The villages are safe if they are not present. This is the formation of PyuSawHtee. Those who don’t understand the situation will suffer loss when undesirable problems arise,” a villager said.

Nagarni Guerrilla Force issued a statement on May 2nd, warning that it would not take responsibility for the life and security of the administrators, 100-household heads and their family members, who are collecting the list in Kyaukse District.
