The military council’s soldiers burgled and looted the locked rooms at a dormitory for the staff from the rural clinic in Khagaranyan village in Swanparabwan Township, according to locals.
The military convoy of rations heading to Putao via Myitkyina entered Khagaranyan village in Swanparabwan Township. The incident took place when the soldiers were stationed at the school, the rural health clinic and the houses in the village, a local said.
“They made a mess with clothes and papers in the rooms. They took the materials. I think they slept in the room by breaking the locks. No one dared to tell them. It happened when the military convoy arrived here last week. Soldiers are stationed in our village for five or six days under the pretext of security. Now they left the village,” a local told the KNG.
Female health staff from the rural health clinic in Khagaranyan village defied the coup and joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) after the coup.
“We think the political problem will not take longer. We have friendly relations with the villagers. We locked our rooms and went back to our homes, assuming that we would come back if the political situation is stable. They broke into the rooms and took the things they wanted. I feel sorry to see it. It is in a state of anarchy,” a female health staff member from Khagaranyan rural health clinic.
In April, 2022, the military convoy transporting rations also looted Durukha rural health clinic in Swanparabwan, according to locals.
