The Karen National Union (KNU) has given a shoot-at-sight order if the junta troops invade the territory controlled by Brigade-7 of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), a top military leader of the Brigade-7 confirmed.

“It is true. At present, the situation is stable in our territory. We are on standby,” the official told the KIC.

The military columns heading to the KNU’s Brigade-7 territory are taking position between the Brigade-7 and the Brigade-6. The military columns from the Nabu area in Hlaingbwe Township are heading to the KNU-controlled territory, according to local news sources.

The regional commander of the KNU’s Brigade-7 told the KIC: “At present, there is no report of the junta troops heading to our territory. But guards are deployed at three places in order that the military cannot send deployments to the Brigade-6. The junta troops are not heading to Hteewarbalaw. We will fight if they are marching to us.”

The military tension continues in Lay Kay Kaw which is under the control of the KNU’s Brigade-6.

Currently, the military council is carrying out increased deployments as it suffers heavy casualties. The junta troops are likely to enter the Brigade-7, the KNU officials said.

The video files showing the firing of weapons by the military-backed Border Guard Force (BGF) are being circulated on social media.

Except for the KNU’s Brigade-7-controlled territory, fighting has been taking place between the KNU and a combined force of the BGF and the military council, in almost all brigades of the KNU since the military coup.
