Six men who robbed a house in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, have been arrested. They posed as members of the People’s Defense Forces (PDF), said residents of Hsengtaung village.
The robbers were arrested at Happy karaoke bar near Hnee Pagoda Hill in Hsengtaung village, Seikmu village tract, along with guns and bullets, according to a person involved in the arrest.
“Three guns, bullets, 15 million MMK and a black Crown car were seized. Six people are still being interrogated,” he said.
The PDF impersonators were arrested by a joint unit of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) at around 2am on September 29th.
On September 28th, Ko Eike Liam and the five others robbed a house near Hnee Pagoda Hill around 10pm. After the robbery, the homeowner notified her husband, who had not returned home, by phone message.
After sending the message, her husband and residents of the neighborhood tried to catch the robbers, but they escaped.
They were later arrested by members of the KIA and the PDF at the Happy karaoke bar.
