A man died and another man wounded in a shooting by the military council in Kalay of Sagaing Region, according to a local.
At around 11 am on 2 March, the junta soldiers stationed at the Irrigation Office in Taungzalat ward shot two men on a motorcycle.
“A man on the back seat died on the spot as his intestine came out. The motorcycle driver got a gunshot wound to his leg and ran away, according to an eyewitness.
Following the shooting, the junta soldiers have tightened inspections.
The military council has not banned two men from riding a motorcycle together in Kalay. However, the junta soldiers usually shoot the people without prior inspection.
Due to it, frequent civilian deaths are reported in Kalay.
