A teacher who has joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and a member of Free Burma Ranger (FBR) were killed in a fighting in the west of Demawsoe Township on March 9th.
Zaw Lin Tun, a 24-year-old CDM teacher, died after having been hit in the head by a sniper.
He is an external affairs relation in-charge from Loikaw Education Degree College Students’ Union. He also served as the commander of Karenni Generation Z Force.
He is a teacher from DTEd Batch No.23/18 (Art) Section-A of the Loikaw Education College. The Education College Students’ Union honours him as a martyr student as comrade Zaw Lin Tun performs his work dutifully.
On March 8th, Ma Elitbeth, 25, from the FBR was seriously injured by the military council troops’ indiscriminate artillery shelling. She died on March 9th while receiving medical treatment, according to the FBR’s order.
A member of the FBR said: “Artillery shell fired by the military council hit her head while she was rescuing the people stranded in Saungdular village at 2 pm on March 8th. She died at 7.30 pm on March 9th.
Fallen Comrade Elitbeth is a second-year student from Bago Midwifery Training School.
The FBR respectfully honours her as she performed her duties such as the movement working to bring help, hope and love to the people and sharing the ground information with the world.
So far, three members of the FBR died while rescuing the civilians stranded in the fighting in Karenni State.
Demawsoe Township sees intense fighting every day. Yesterday, fighting took place in three places almost all the day. Around 10-15 soldiers of the military council are expected to die in the fighting, an official of the DMO-PDF information department.
