The National Unity Government (NUG) held an online meeting with the United League for Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA) on May 16th, according to Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La’s facebook.
The NUG’s Alliance Relation Committee led by the NUG’s Foreign Affairs Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung and U Min Ko Naing held an online meeting with the Arakan People’s Government led by the ULA’s Chair Maj-Gen Tun Myat Naing and General Secretary Dr. Nyo Tun Aung, for two hours.
Both sides cordially exchanged their views on the current political situations and the country’s situations.
In addition, the respective ministries under the NUG discussed the works being undertaken by the NUG.
On May 24th, the NUG issued a statement offering to hold an informal talk with the ULA/AA.
The AA itself is not involved in the anti-coup movements after the coup. The AA recently said that it provided military assistance to some anti-coup organizations like the People’s Defense Forces (PDFs.)
