More than 100 soldiers die and 32 surrender in Loikaw

Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) announced on 15 November that 32 military council soldiers surrendered on the 4th day of “Operation 11.11” in Loikaw of Karenni (Kayah) State.

The soldiers who surrendered to the KNDF are: the soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB)-425 and LIB-6 under the Division-66, according to the statement.

On the 3rd day of operation on 13 November, the KNDF could crush the entire battalion including the commander and deputy commander of the LIB-425 stationed in Loikaw University, the statement says.

In addition, the KNDF crushed around half of the LIB-6. On 14 November, 32 military council soldiers led by company commander Kaung Myat Ko surrendered, the statement says.

According to the statement, the military council soldiers who surrendered were given full medical care in accordance with the KNDF’s Military Act and the Prisoners of War (POW) policies.

The KNDF could wipe out more than 110 soldiers from two battalions stationed in Loikaw University and capture 38 prisoners of war. The KNDF could seize 128 small arms, weapons and ammunition.
