Locals in Matupi Township find it difficult to go outside as the military has called on the people not to go to farms and warned that landmines are planted around Matupi township in southern Chin State on October 12th.
A local said: “The military has announced via loudspeaker that the people are barred from going outside the town as landmines are planted around the town. We cannot go to our farms and to Matupi and Mindat. The people here find it difficult to get food and vegetables as we cannot go anywhere. The military also warned that it would take legal action if the public cooperate with youths.”
