Military council troops have torched about fifteen houses in Haimual (New) village in Tedim township, Chin State, around 3:30 a.m. on August 14th, locals report.

After entering the village, the junta soldiers arrested the villagers and later released them, but 17-year-old Lalnunpuii and her 15-year-old younger brother Lalruatmawia are still being held, according to a resident of Haimual (New) village.

Haimual (New) village is located on the border trade route between India and Myanmar, the Kale-Tedim-Rih Road. Currently, all villagers have fled to the Indian state of Mizoram due to the ongoing civil war, while about 30 military council soldiers are still stationed in the village.

Considering the current situation, the Chinland Defense Force – Hualngoram announced that traffic between Kale and Rikhawdar has been temporarily suspended from August 15 to ensure security in the area.
