On May 7 between 5 PM and 6 PM the military troops raided the houses in Hakha Htar Ward, Hakha, Chin State and searched those to be arrested. Since they could not find them in the houses, they arrested six people, including over sixty-years old couple.

“They were searching the people. That couple had been arrested since the troops could not find their son. Both are over 60s. Likewise when they did not find another, they arrested someone nearby. They then arrested a man who had fled in panic after firing a gun. They entered another house and arrested another. But I don’t know why. About 150,000 kyats were stolen in that house,” said a resident of Hakha.

The arrested six persons include Pu Cu Kung and his wife Ri Ram Iang, Pu Bawi Hram, Pa Ram Ceu, Pa Than Htang and Nu Ni Tin Thluai.

Six persons were arrested yesterday evening and the Hakha Htar Baptist Church was also raided by military council but had no damage.

On May 6 the military council arrested twelve persons in Hakha and 10 out of them were released in the evening of that day.
