Military bombards two KIA camps on Kachin-Sagaing border

The military council bombarded two places on the border of Kachin State and Sagaing Region at around 10 pm yesterday by two jet fighters.

The military dropped bombs near Moetar in Katha and the Brigade-8 territory of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Mohnyin District by two Yak-130 jet fighters, a KIA frontline news source told the KNG.

“Last night, the bombardment took place in two places. The military used two jet fighters for each place. The bombardment occurred in Moetar and Brigade-8. The military bombarded the places where the KIA and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) are likely to station. There were no reports of any casualties,” he said.

Four jet fighters from TadaU of Mandalay Region dropped bombs at around 10 pm.
From around 6 am till around 11 am today, fighting continued between the military council army and a combined force of the KIA and the PDF at the exit of Nabar on Myitkyina-Mandalay Road.

The detailed information about the clash in Nabar is still unknown.

In recent days, the military council is carrying out deployments of troops in Katha Township of Sagaing Region. Fighting was intense as a combined force of the KIA and the PDF attacked the junta troops stationed in Bantbway village on August 22nd.
