Heavy shelling by the military council killed four civilians, including a 10-year-old child, and injured three others in Noe Koe village-tract, located in the western part of Loikaw Township in Karenni State, according to the Jobs For Kayah Association, which is helping IDPs.

Heavy shelling by the junta forces, carried out without any active fighting, around 3 p.m. on 8 November, killed four villagers—three from Noe Koe Model Village and one from Thayetpin Village.

The victims of the shelling were identified as a 10-year-old girl, a 24-year-old woman, and two men in their 30s, according to the Jobs For Kayah Association.

A member of the Jobs For Kayah Association said: “They (the military council) fired intentionally. Now, military columns have arrived in Moebye, and they are preparing to march towards Loikaw via Loikaw Road and Moebye Road. They deliberately carry out shelling and area clearance operations in nearby villages along the roads, targeting areas where they cannot conduct ground operations.”

Some locals, along with most of the IDPs, are taking shelter in villages that were shelled by the military council. As a result, those killed in the shelling were primarily IDPs.
On 8 November alone, the military council bombed Karla village in the eastern part of Pekon close to Karenni State, killing a 35-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman and destroying civilian houses.

IDP aid organizations and local revolutionary forces have cautioned civilians to be especially vigilant and take precautions against heavy shelling and airstrikes. As part of their area clearance operations, the junta is intentionally targeting villages with heavy weapons, where only civilians remain and no active combat is underway.
