Villagers are hiding as the military council troops are stationed at Kwansikan village between Pakokku and Myaing in Magway Region since April 23th.
‘There is no fighting here. There is no arson. The people no longer dare to live in the village as many soldiers are stationed in the village. There are three older men left in the village. The soldiers told them not to go outside,” a Kwansikan villager said.
The soldiers took precious materials from some houses in the village when the villagers fled for their lives, some villagers said.
“Nothing is as important as human lives. We had to flee by carrying essential materials when they entered the village. Soldiers slaughtered goats and cows,” a local added.
Around 100 soldiers are stationed in Kwansikan village. There are around 300 households in Kwansikan village. All villagers have fled to safer places as they fear the soldiers, the villagers said.
