Jobs for Kayah (JFK Team) will provide a cash assistance of Ks-50,000 each to the staff who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) in Karenni State.
Jobs for Kayah (JFK Team) plans to raise the funds till June 19th and starts providing cash assistance on June 20th.
An official of the JFK Team said: “We will provide cash assistance based on the funds. A cash assistance of Ks-50,000 each will be provided to the staff. We have no sufficient funds to pay more. This is the JFK Team’s own program. It is impossible to provide cash assistance to all CDM staff in Karenni State even if we use our funds and cash from the sale of the team page admin’s car. We are trying to provide cash assistance to all CDM staff.”
JFK Team’s assistance has nothing to do with the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), the National Unity Government (NUG), the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), the INGOs and political organizations which are active in Karenni State.
Not only the CDM staff from Karenni State but also those who returned from Nay Pyi Taw, Lewe and Tatkon to the Karenni State by joining the CDM, are entitled to the program.
There were more than 800 CDM staff in Karenni State. A few staff returned to their jobs during this year.
It is estimated that there may be around 800 CDM staff, according to the official of the JFK team.
Another official of the JFK Team said: “We respect and honour the remaining CDM staff. The CDM staff are the first heroes of the Spring Revolution. Without them, it is not easy for us to stand till now. So, we will help the CDM staff as much as we can. We would like to express thanks to all donors.”
In July, 2021, the JFK Team provided a cash assistance of 50,000 each for 200 CDM staff, according to the officials of the team.
Since around five years before the coup, the JFK Team-Job for Kayah has been an organization which is sharing the job opportunities via its facebook for the youths in Karenni State.
