The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked and destroyed an under-construction camp built by the military-backed people’s militia force in Wuyan village at the exit of Waingmaw Township, at around 3 am on November 4th.

A local from Wuyan told the KNG: “The KIA fired at least 15 rounds of heavy weapons at the camp built by the people’s militia force near the compound of the administration office in Wuyan village. It is just a threat. There were no reports of casualties.”

“The KIA fired heavy weapons at around 3 am. This gate was built four days ago. It is assumed that the KIA carried out the attack as it did not want the military inspection gate in the village,” the local said.

“Locals have shown opposition to the construction of a gate in the compound of the administration office as they don’t want the occupation of the people’s militia force in the public area, and the gate is located in the village. The people’s militia force should not carry out the construction of the gate there,” he continued.

The people’s militia gate is being built as a camp for the battalion-58 in Waingmaw.

At night on July 11st, the KIA attacked and destroyed the people’s militia camp near Shwenyaungbin Light Infantry Battalion-321 in Waingmaw Township.
