The military council’s airstrike hit two prisons of the Arakan Army (AA), resulting in the casualties of detained soldiers, border guard police members and other prisoners, according to the AA’s statement on September 28th.
At 11 pm on September 23th, 2022, the military council bombarded Letpan ridge in Maungdaw Township for 30 minutes with three fighter jets, the statement says.
Some injured police and soldiers died due to the lack of medicine although the AA is providing medical treatment to them on humanitarian ground.
There is little hope for their survival as some members are seriously injured.
The military council has no spirit of camaraderie and is still neglecting them although the AA has informed officials of the military council about the seriously-injured soldiers and police.
An additional injured soldier died as the military council did not contact the AA for five days.
The AA is providing medical treatment to the injured border police and soldiers to the best of its ability.
The soldiers performed their duties by sacrificing their lives. However their mother organization neglects them even when they are injured and facing life-threatening danger. The lack of spirit of camaraderie and such negligence is the Myanmar army called the military council’s real attitude towards its members. That’s to say, the military council doesn’t take responsibility for its comrades, the statement says.
The soldiers who no longer want to perform their duties in the army which has no accountability and responsibility can quickly contact the nearest places, the AA.
The number of the soldiers who defected to the AA and the soldiers detained by the AA has exceeded 150.
The AA has detained them well and safely sent some of them to the places they want to go.
