Junta bombs two villages in Tanintharyi Township

The military council dropped more than10 bombs on Inn Shey Kone and Thein Naw villages in Tanintharyi Township in Tanintharyi Region even though there was no active fighting, according to local residents and the Myeik District Joint Military Column-2.

At around 9 am on 7 October, a jet fighter from Myeik Airbase dropped more than six bombs in Inn Shey Kone village. The bombs exploded near the village clinic, according to local residents.

In addition, the military council dropped five bombs in Thein Naw village. The bombs exploded on the edge of the village. There were no reports of any casualties, according to local residents.

An official from Myeik District Joint Military Column-2 said that the junta’s bombing is believed to be aimed at the village clinic.

Despite the junta’s bombings on two villages in Tanintharyi Township, no casualties were reported. The attacks hit the clinic building, but no civilian houses were destroyed.

On 2 October, the junta conducted a drone attack on Mawton (West) village in Tanintharyi Township, killing a child and destroying a school.

According to available information, the military council carried out over 10 airstrikes in August and September, during a period of heightened tension between the two armed forces.
