The Inle People’s Defense Force (IPDF) in southern Shan State is in urgent need of help as it has to urgently move its camp to another place.
The IPDF moved to another place on May 15th due to the intense fighting along the east of Pekon in Southern Shan State and heavy shelling, an official of the IPDF says.
An official of the IPDF said: “All members are in need of rations and shelters as we have to move from our camp only with our clothes. Tha major need is money. Well-wishers are making donations. The ration supply route is closed due to the continued fighting. We have to spend more money as we have to solve the ration problem with the use of money. We are in need of waterproof sheets and raincoats.”
The IPDF bought six guns on June 4th.
“The IPDF started with hand-made guns. We had one AK rifle only. Now we have bought three AK-47 rifles, two M4 guns, one automatic gun and bullets. These weapons are only for a section. We are in need of arms and bullets to arm all members,” a spokesperson of the IPDF continues.
In addition, the IPDF has formed a drone force. The PDF is in need of a drone as the military shot down the drone in the fighting. The price for a scouting drone is nearly Ks-4.5 million.
Although there are frequent clashes between the IPDF and the military council, there are no reports of any casualties except one PDF member who sustained the minor wound, according to the official of the IPDF.
On January 10th, 2022, the IPDF was formed with the Inthar race and other races.
The IPDF is fighting against the military council in the east of Pekon and along the Shan-Kayah (Karenni) border, in cooperation with the Central Command Special Operation Pekon Battalion No.2, the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) and the Pekon PDF.
