The refugees in the west of Phruso Township are in urgent need of medicines as they suffer from nasal congestion, cough, diarrhea and itch, according to a local.

“We have a female health staff here. But there are no medicines left,” the local added.

Most of the villages in Moso station in the west of Phruso have not received medical assistance since the locals started taking shelter. P.o.P bandage has run out as it is used for the wounded soldiers. There are a few medicines left for her family. She gave all medicines to others. But she did not ask for money,” a local said.

“The female health staff received medicines provided during the Covid pandemic period before we fled to safer places,” the local says.

The nasal congestion, cough, diarrhea and itch are reported among the internally displaced children in Moso Station while the older IDPs suffer from hypertension and backaches.

Some people with chronic diseases have to go to Pikin and Moebye to buy medicines.

Phruso Township has more than 4,000 refugees. The total number of the refugees in Karenni State has exceeded 200,000, according to the Karenni Civil Society Network (KCSN).
