Due to the military council’s military columns, the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) from six villages of Htilin Township in Magway Region are in need of medicine, child utensils and humanitarian assistance, those helping the IDPs told the Than Lwin Times.
“They are permanent IDPs. Since eight months ago, the IDPs have been taking shelter here. They are in need of medicine, shelter, ration and personal goods. Donations can be made through the Yaw Rays Facebook Page,” said a person helping the IDPs.
There are 35 teachers who are teaching at the IDP villages. The villages are in need of roofs, construction materials for the construction of a school, school equipment, clothes, solar panels, battery and water-purifying equipment, he said.
Eight months ago, around 1,500 locals from Htanbinkone, Ponna, Htalin, Waryinchaing and west villages were displaced. A total of 580 people from Aung village have been taking shelter one year and seven months ago.
More than 2,000 IDPs from Htilin Township always take shelter in safer places due to the military council’s military operations. The people from the villages in Kyaukhtu and Gangaw Townships are temporarily taking shelter.
According to the lists compiled by the ISP-Myanamr, an independent reserach organization, Sagaing Region, Karenni State, Chin State and Magway Region see the highest number of the IDPs following the coup.
