A combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) carried out drone attacks on Kinmonchaung police station in Kyaikto Township of Mon State twice in the afternoon on 13 August.
After the drone attacks, the heavy shell fired by the police station landed and exploded in the ward, according to locals.
“The heavy shell indiscriminately fired by the police station exploded near Aung rice noodle factory in YaungchiU ward and wounded a 40-year-old woman who sells steamed peas,” a local said.
The combined force is still investigating the situation to confirm the casualties from the military council in the attack on the police station.
In April and June, the combined force also carried out drone attacks on Kinmonchaung police station at the foot of Kyaiktiyo Pagoda in Kyaikto Township.
The combined force frequently attacks that police station, according to locals.
