Five Lower Kyauk Wat villagers shot dead by army in Launglon

The military council troops abducted and killed five villagers Lower Kyauk Wat village in Launglon Township in Tanintharyi Region and burned the village, locals told the Than Lwin Times.

A military column of more than 50 soldiers entered Lower Kyauk Wat village via Kyauknimaw village at around 9 am on 4 March.

The military council troops abducted six civilians from lower Kyauk Wat village and killed them at the village football ground. Five villagers died on the spot and one villager is in critical condition, according to a local.

The junta soldiers left for Kyauknimaw village after killing the villagers.

The military council soldiers burned down more than three houses in Lower Kyauk Wat village.

On 2 March, the military council suffered heavy casualties in a clash with the People’s Defense Force (PDF) near Lower Kyauk Wat village. Then, the military council entered the village.

Three military council soldiers were killed in the battle. The PDF seized a gun and related materials, according to the statement by Launglon Township PDF.
