Today of May 21 2021, the shootings took place in Demoso township, Kayah State, between People’s Defense Force (PDF) and Military Council. Locals say that since the military council had used heavy weapons, the people from Demoso town were fleeing to safe areas.
“Almost every people from Demoso town are displacing to the safe areas of having no battles. The sound of gun fire was still heard and the heavy weapons were exploded about 40 times,” recounted a local from Demoso.
Clashes between PDF and Military Council have occurred in five places on May 21. Although it was heard that some military personnel died during the fighting, the exact number of the casualties from both sides have not been confirmed yet.
