Local residents report that some civilians have been injured due to drone and artillery attacks by military junta forces in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region.

According to locals, on 9 November, approximately 50 junta troops arrived at the  Me Za Li village police station and began launching drone and artillery strikes at villages west of the Pathein-Monywa road.

“The situation is very serious. They’re firing artillery both day and night. We don’t even know how to live anymore. Right now, we’re just taking shelter wherever we think might be safe,” said one local resident.

According to reports, one civilian was injured from artillery shelling targeting villages along the Pathein-Monywa road, including  Kywe Chan and Lel Ma villages, while two more civilians were wounded in drone attacks.

According to People’s Defense Force sources, as of 11 November, the junta troops have been conducting ambush patrols, reinforcing their numbers, and constructing bunkers and trenches along the Pathein-Monywa road.

PDF members say that the junta troops who arrived at Me Za Li village are primarily Pyu Saw Htee members along with soldiers from the Cotton Cultivation Unit, Battalion 254, and Battalion 255.

Since 9 November, the PDF Battalion 7 of Minbu District has warned locals not to use road sections near 3 Mile Post, 5 Mile Post, and near Wun Lo and Kho Nan villages along the Pathein-Monywa road.
